Engages, Educates, and Empowers Student Filmmakers
Film industry professionals mentor students (particularly those at-risk) to step out of their comfort zone and tell their stories. We unleash untapped creativity and encourage the next generation of working filmmakers to transform the culture of the industry.
The Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders held its Annual “Essex County Celebrates Youth” Program on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the Hall of Records in Newark. This year, two student films were screened: #HearHenrietta (created at Cinema Ed's spring FilmBoot24 program) and Max’s Candy Crush (Grand July Prize winner at Cinema Ed's spring Young Filmmakers program). Directors of both films spoke at the presentation and received citations acknowledging their good work.
Cinema Ed also received a citation for our work that nurtures young filmmakers, offers mentoring programs to improve their skills and expands their awareness of career opportunities in the film industry.
